Art vs. Art IV (For me)
11:02-2:50'ish August 29, 2015 This was my fourth time at Art vs. Art in Indianapolis. It is a really fun experience, though stressful somehow. I don't mind the deadline of four hours to finish an artwork, but somehow I mind people watching me paint. I prefer to paint in solitude. The subject matter for this painting was hastily decided on the hour before I painted it. I wanted to try to paint one of the pictures that I took in Paris. I was drawn to the depth of field in this image. The flowers are the only thing in focus because of the shutter speed and aperture that I set on the camera. LOW aperture numbers = large opening letting in lots of light = amazing depth of field. The palace with a sordid history in the background helps too! Sold to a gracious patron that saved it from the chainsaw. Thank you kind mystery person. |
