I am super excited to announce that I will be participating in the Indy Arts Fest mural contest! My friend and coworker Hannah Johnson will be the other half of our team.

I am so happy to have completed my first commissioned mural. It was for the private offices of Prologis at 8888 N Keystone in Indianapolis. I am so happy to have gotten this done. It took 8 solid days, 2 of those days were during some serious snow storms. I. Was. Determined.
I loooooove teaching high school art, so I planned on teaching and streaming from the location of the mural. Alas, there was no wifi, so I settled with checking in on them and their sub via a google meet at the beginning of their classes. My most beloved content, AP Art History, I of course taught from my car. Perfectly normal. I am really proud of the work that I was able to create and I look forward to my next mural opportunity that will be over labor day weekend. I hope to livestream that. *fingers crossed for wifi* Kate's painting of her children Genus II is complete! She was able to pick it up this past weekend and I got to meet her mother who happens to be a fellow educator. This Saturday I am starting my first mural ever!!! It is at Prologis in Indianapolis. The building is beautiful! The mural is BIG and will be a solid 9 days of painting. I am also going to be checking in on my students at school virtually and livestreaming (albeit poorly).
Check out the livestream on my Twitch Channel to peek at the progress. I will be streaming daily from 11 AM to 5 PM for at least a week. I'm almost done with Kate's commision Genus II. Once that is done it is back to work on Vote!.
I'm gearing up to work on my first ever mural!!! It is for a company called Prologis in an awesome building at Keystone at the Crossing. I plan on livestreaming it on Twitch so I have been playing around with that platform. If you go to my Contavt page and click on the LiveStream button, you can watch me paint live almost every night at 9 pm. The murals creation will be live all day for at least a week starting February 13th. Live, an appropriate title for this weeks blog. I am continuing to work on Genus II for Kate, which has the text LIVE on it. And, I am planning on live streaming an upcoming art project that I will be working on. I'm currently trying to decide between Youtube and Twitch. Only time will tell. I will share more info once it is set in stone.
Back to painting! This painting has a new home! It had been at the Mayor's Office in Indianapolis for quite a while until Jack Simmons purchased it for his new office space. It is a perfect location.
Back to work on Kate's painting. It continues to progress, check it out on it's page Genus II. This painting Virtus for the Principal of Greenfield-Central High School Jason Cary is finished! I'm varnishing it and delivering it tomorrow.
Next up is Genus II for Kate McDonald. It is the second portrait that she has commissioned of her family. Virtus is wrapping up in the next few weeks and it will be on to my next commission Genus II for Kate Francis.
I'm super excited to start another commission. This time it is for the principal at the school where I teach art. I've decided to call it Virtus which is latin for virtue, valor, strength, goodness, & excellence. You can watch its progress on it's own page under sold work, Virtus. I'm still working on Vote!, the painting that pays homage to Indiana women's suffrage, but I will wrap it up after Virtus.
Well, I am not the greatest blogger by far. Here is an update for you, anyhow. Vote! is progressing nicely. I've been working on a design for my next commision as well. Next week Roma is going back to Mavris Art and Event Center. Nike, and part of Theorem are as well. I think I might ask for my painting of the speedway back from the Mayor's offices, as I have not seen it in a while. Below is a lil' slideshow of the progress on Vote! |
