Greenfield Community Mural
I am excited and honored to have been selected to work on the mural at SR 40 and Pennsylvania on the side of Ford’s Flooring building. It was so wonderful getting to work with all ages of citizens. I normally work with the 9th through 12th grade set at Greenfield-Central High School as one of three art teachers.
This mural was designed to be vibrant, and cheerful, and show the pride that I have as a citizen of Indiana and as a member of the Greenfield community. As a sister of a Lt. Colonel in the US Army, I am always tempted to put a flag on my work, so I included the Indiana State flag on this one. The silhouettes of buildings from left to right are the following: the Riley Park arch (Greenfield has an amazing system of parks), the three columns on the north side of I-70, the Riley House Museum, the Courthouse, the Depot, the three columns on the south side of I-70, and a Victorian house (which Greenfield has many beautiful examples of). The colors were chosen from a series of vibrant color schemes and are meant to express the exuberance and creativity of the city it inhabits. The flat planes of color and starburst pattern are inspired by the style of Peter Max, an iconic American Pop Artist.

I have been selected to create a community mural in Downtown Greenfield, IN. The community is going to vote on a design and then they will get to take part in the painting of it. Below I’ve linked an article about it from the Greenfield Daily Reporter, as well as the ideas I’ve created so far, and the murals location
