Dream Landscape is finished! Next up will be a painting of a world map. The imagery will be two maps layered, one that is current and one that is from 350 years ago. I am hoping to have a started painting for you to see next week.
In other news, Suffragette is coming down from the Indianapolis International Airport tomorrow. She had a good run and is going to an art lover in California that was moved by the meaning behind the art, Suffrage. I am pleased that it is going to a home where it will be appreciated. I am going to start weaving together my waste paint cups into a large quilt starting tonight. With over 1000 cups, each with two nights worth of paint peeled and stuck inside, it could get big. I am turning into a Type A kind of person about my home. I have this compulsion to do as many updates as possible until they fall semester starts...
Also, I am kind of having artists block *gasp* as to what I would like to paint on my next large-ish canvas. So these two things combined equals not a lot of painting news. Suffragette comes down July 16th at the Indianapolis International Airport and is then off to California to it's new home. Indiana Sightglass is coming back from Arts Illiana in Terre Haute and I think I am going to keep her at home for a bit. In the meantime, Dreamscape has slightly progressed. I had a blast last week teaching at Art with a Heart in Indianapolis for their summer camp. It is a great non profit organization that brings great art experiences to kiddos.
Meanwhile not much else on the art front, I am currently full on attacking my new to me home with lots of updates and it is all consuming... But I do have this little guy that I've been working on. |
