Come out to Black Swan Brewpub in Plainfield to see some of my art. Tamara Nike comes down from the 5547 Project Gallery tomorrow and will be going to the Mavris Art and Event Center soon. It seems like a venue where she might get purchased, so that is exciting. School starts Monday so it's back to teaching for me!

![]() I love working large, it just takes forever with the amount of detail in this composition. I am guessing it won't be done by the end of next week, more like the end of the one after that if I am lucky. I love all of the little umbrella trees in the picture - which are really hard to see right now, but trust me they are there. I found out that they are called Stone Pines and, alas, that they like warmish dry climates not native to my Indianapolis. No stone pines for Lisa. I have applied for a lot of stuff this month. I recently was rejected for a mural in a Kroger in Greenwood... Didn't even make it past the first round of cuts. I have also applied for the Stutz Residency and the Beckman Emerging Artist Grant. More chance for failure! I must be addicted to it because I am not stopping. Good thing I consider Vincent Van Gogh my spirit animal. I will not stop art-ing! Until next Saturday, adios! I got a new light this week that has a 6500 Kelvin Lightbulb to imitate daylight and I LOVE it! Check out the before and after.
Progress on Roma continues. Art BaksThe Art Baks has been really fun this past week. I have gotten to meet a lot of really interesting people. This past Thursday I closed early to go compete in Pitch Night at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. It was a really fascinating event. I didn't win, but I still feel like it was a great experience. I got to meet some really awesome Indiana Artists. Oh and some advice to people that may be working in an Art Baks like situation. If a kinda creepy looking homeless man asks to have a seat, SAY NO!
