I am going to the National Art Education Associations Annual Conference in New York City with four of my contemporaries next weekend. I will be visiting the Whitney and the Met and hopefully the Guggenheim. Art Museum bucket list: check, check, check!
In other news, I got a peek at the press release for the art that is up at the Indianapolis International Airport from March to July. It summed up Suffragette very well. I will post pics after it is installed. My favorite part of the installation is the title in 4 inch tall vinyl letters. It says LISA SEARS: SUFFRAGETTE. It was the suggestion from the art director at the Indianapolis Arts Council to just state my name and then the title of the work, but I do like how it seems to imply that I am calling myself a suffragette. While the right to vote has been won, and therefor I cannot call myself that, I am proud to say that I am a feminist.
Any who, I am going to get back to painting.
