I am happy to say that I was chosen as the next artist to show their work on a quarterly display at the One America building for a quarterly exhibition. Woo Woo.
These three babes will be gracing their walls.

I’m really excited about my next painting. It’s for a contest, but even if I’m not selected, it is happening. I use adobe fresco to create my painting compositions. The video below is how I came up with my newest idea, Vote! Below, is the final digital rendering for my next painting. Check out it’s page for an in depth artist statement.
Well, I realized a lot of things last weekend at the Monster Drawing Rally. Bring 2 pre-made drawings, because you probably won't get a lot done in an hour, being the main one. I am hoping to go back next year and kick more butt, because I only got one drawing done... and it truly was a monster.
Eh. On the bright side, the beer was great. Progress on Theorem continues. I am participating in a fundraiser for Newfields tomorrow at Sunking brewing. I have only one epic monster idea but I’m pretty exited about it. See my version of the Greek monster Scylla below. I’ll post some pictures of the variations of it that I create in 1 hour next week.
There is a call for art to celebrate the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote in Indiana, where I live, work, and vote. I am super excited to submit something, Lately I've been working large by putting together several canvases. Shipping and transporting are MUCH easier and the work fits with the ideas that I've used it for, namely quilting and the Fibonacci sequence. But I've run into a problem with this as well. When I build canvases, they are usually ever so slightly askew, which doesn't matter, unless your butting it up to other canvases like I am now. So I think I am going to build the painting boards that I will use for the Suffrage piece that I'm doing next. I've got to figure out the imagery before I build them, but when I do, I will document it here so you can see what an awesome carpenter I am... That is 100% sarcasm. Wish me luck. Back to painting, drinking tea and listening to terrible music. G'night! Theorem in progress.
I am very lucky and have a brother that lives in Belgium, and has the means to fly me, my husband, my brother and son to visit. Belgium did not disappoint! I travel internationally with students and was disappointed that Belgium isn’t on more of the iteneraries. First: Ghent I teach AP Art History and was very excited to see the Ghent altarpiece, which is 1 of the 250 artworks that students study. Why is it so special? Well, for one it is huge, and well done, and it is very old. It is also a first. The first large scale altarpiece done in oil on panel. It was so famous that Hitler coveted it for his art collection. Everyday between the hours of 12-1 the altarpiece is opened. You aren’t supposed to film it, but I’m a rebel. I was also very lucky and got to see Manakin Pis, the best statue ever. The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam did not disappoint. *Note Abs baby Jesus What day is it? Abs day.
